Since May 1, I have documented the Mayday Movement USA, a 24/7 sit-in that is unfolding across the National Mall—most recently located outside Union Station. The group is calling for the impeachment and removal of President Trump, and positions itself not as partisan, but as patriotic. Through art, community engagement, and Congressional outreach, organizers emphasize their belief that impeachment and defending the Constitution is a moral imperative, not a political one.
The 24/7 nature of the protest takes a visible toll. Founding members and early volunteers withstand long hours, working tirelessly to sustain momentum while laboring to expand their ranks. Yet despite exhaustion, these volunteers press on—driven by the belief that if they can mobilize public action in response to what they see as a growing Constitutional crisis, they can win the hearts & minds of Congress and move votes in the halls of power.
This photo story follows the rhythms of Mayday’s volunteers—the people behind the movement—marked by outspoken determination and deep, personal convictions that change begins with presence.
